Diary of a Project Monitor February 2022
– Colin Ranshaw –
February seems to have flown by in the blink of an eye. Thankfully my travels were not interrupted by the storms. My thoughts are with those who suffered damage and loss at the hand of the bad weather.
Challenges with supply have greatly improved but we are still seeing isolated issues where some developers continue to suffer at the hand of supply issues. Planning continues to be a challenge, discharge of pre-commencement planning conditions continues to be an issue nationwide.
This month I have had the pleasure of visiting three projects on the South Coast. All have their individual merits, totaling 30 individual dwellings of varying sizes between them. It’s very humbling to know that the work we do is contributing towards a variety of housing needs from the more modest apartment aimed at the first-time buyer to the larger detached properties that hold the promise of a ‘forever home’.
I’ve shared some images of the various projects below to show the variety of projects I have the privilege of working on a weekly basis.
I’m fortunate that no two days are the same and my job takes me all over the country. On a short flight to Leeds at the beginning of the month I witnessed a spectacular sunset and star from the plane window. One of the many perks of my job.
